The following situations do not fully exclude you from Kambo, but require additional care, practitioner awareness, and preparation:

Individuals taking weight loss supplements or sleep medications

Anyone with a current drug or alcohol dependency (must be clean for at least 72 hours)

Individuals with autoimmune diseases like MS or ALS:

Kambo stimulates the immune system and may intensify symptoms in some.

A gentle, single-point dose is recommended to observe response before proceeding with a full session.

⚠️ Detoxing, Water, and Fasting Guidelines
To ensure your safety, avoid the following practices before and after Kambo:

No colonics, enemas, liver flushes, or water-based detoxes for 3 days before or after the ceremony

Fasting is not appropriate for 7 days before or after Kambo (except the standard pre-ceremony fast of 10–12 hours)

Do not consume alcohol or recreational substances for 24–48 hours before or after treatment

Avoid drinking excessive water:

Do not exceed 5 liters of water total on the day of your session (including 2 hours before and after).

Excessive water intake (6–10 liters) can lead to electrolyte imbalance, potentially dangerous to life and health

Q: Is Kambo Safe?
A: Yes, for most people. Kambo is a powerful natural medicine with no known long-term side effects when responsibly administered by a trained practitioner. However, there are certain conditions and circumstances where Kambo is not safe or appropriate. Please review the following carefully to determine your eligibility.
🚫 Kambo Is Not Safe For Individuals Who:

Have had a stroke or brain hemorrhage

Have an aneurysm or history of blood clots

Have undergone heart bypass surgery, valve replacement, or have an enlarged heart

Use an implanted defibrillator (ICD) or have congestive heart failure

Have fluid in the pericardium (heart sac)

Have received an organ transplant

Have Addison’s Disease
-
Have active gastrointestinal ulcers
-
Suffer from Crohn’s Disease or Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

Are currently taking immune-suppressing medications
-
Live with epilepsy

Experience serious mental health conditions (excluding PTSD, depression, or anxiety)

Lack the capacity to fully consent to Kambo treatment

Have severely high or low blood pressure requiring medication

Are recovering from major surgery

Are pregnant or breastfeeding (if baby is under 1 year old)

Are within 21 days postpartum

Are under 18 years old
-
Are receiving chemotherapy or radiation (within 6 weeks before or after treatment)

Live with certain types of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS)

Take slimming pills, sleep aids, or strong pharmaceuticals that affect the heart

Have been diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome

Have gliomas (a type of brain tumor)

Have fasted for less than 3 days prior to the session

Have donated plasma within the last 2 weeks

Have had a Covid-19 vaccine or booster within the last 3–6 months

Have a history of pancreatitis

Have or had esophageal varices or esophageal perforation/rupture
⚠️ Special Considerations

Menstruating Women: May experience intensified symptoms and increased bleeding, but this is not a contraindication.

Asthmatics: Must bring a rescue inhaler to the ceremony.

Diabetics: Only to be served by highly experienced practitioners — not suitable for beginners.
